Brion City Hotel

The former Howard Johnson Hotel, situated at Brionplein in Otrobanda, was sold in December 2018 to Trinity Rio Hotel B.V., which is owned by Akash Soemeer. Currently the hotel is being renovated and more areas are being constructed. Under the new name Brion City Center & Hotel, the hotel will offer a new lobby, dining room, spa area, meeting room, new restaurants and cafes that will be open 24/7 to serve the guests of the hotel as well as the local community. The hotel will provide 74 rooms, including two penthouses. The initial investment is ANG 10.1 million for the purchase of Howard Johnson Hotel and the total investment is estimated at ANG 16.1 million including new furniture for Brion City Center & Hotel.

The renovation and extension of the hotel is now at 75% of the entire project. Approximately 85 full-time employees are directly involved during the construction. Brion City Center & Hotel will open its doors in November 2019 and the hotel will recruit a total of 25 full-time employees when it is operational. It is estimated that indirectly a total of 15 jobs for full-time employees will be generated as well for the new restaurants.
